Due to generous financial support from the Cybec Foundation, we are pleased to offer 3 scholarships for wildlife health professionals to attend the Wildlife Pathology Short Course in Sydney during February 2012.These scholarships are aimed at assisting wildlife veterinarians from developing countries, however, other veterinarians in financial hardship who are studying or working in the field of wildlife health are eligible to apply.  As the course will be delivered in English, applicants will require reasonable written and oral communication skills in English.

 This Short Course is being coordinated by The Australian Registry of Wildlife Health in collaboration with the C. L. Davis Foundation, University of Sydney and supported by the Cybec Foundation.

Anatomical Pathologist- James Cook University

The School of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences is seeking an energetic individual to provide expertise in veterinary anatomical pathology. The School is responsible for the undergraduate Veterinary Science, Biomedical Science, and Medical Laboratory Science programs and requires the services of an experienced veterinary anatomical pathologist for teaching into these programs as well as to contribute to the provision of the School’s diagnostic pathology service.

This position presents an exciting opportunity to pursue research opportunities relevant to the region and to work with existing academic strength in the development and delivery of innovative curricula in a range of degree programs.

ANATOMICAL PATHOLOGIST: School of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences
Job Level(s): We are seeking an anatomical pathologist who holds specialist qualifications such as a Fellowship of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists or board certification from the European or American Society of Veterinary Pathologists. The appointment will be at the level of Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor.

Employment Type: Appointment will be full-time on a continuing basis subject to a probationary period.

Salary: Senior Lecturer – Academic Level C – $89,751 – $103,033 per annum; Associate Professor – Academic Level D – $107,460 – $118,082 per annum. Level of appointment and commencing salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include a generous seventeen per cent employer superannuation contribution and attractive options for salary packaging.
Location: Townsville.
